Jennifer Garrison, M.A., CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Jennifer graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics in 2008, followed by a research-intensive Masters of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology in 2013. She is currently licensed to practice through New Mexico's Board of Regulation and Licensing Dept for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.  Her previous life was as a Military Intelligence soldier for the US Army, where she met her now husband of 21 years, and as a cognitive trainer. Her fascination for language, culture, healing, and connection has driven her practice since the beginning of her journey. Jennifer has almost a decade of direct experience with autistic clients, nonspeaking communicators, and school-based, home-based, and clinical service models.

Jennifer’s “speechie” interests include trauma-informed approaches to therapy, family coaching, learning about and advocating for neurodivergent voices, and the latest brain science. In the “outside world,” she loves learning new things and continuing to challenge herself to grow as a human being (currently on the menu: meditation, genealogy, and martial arts). She currently moonlights as a mom of 4 and homeschool teacher, which has taught her everything about life, including neurodiversity, authenticity, and a presumption of competence.

Her promise to her clients and their families is to always see, honor, and hear them for who they are and to be their biggest fan in their respective therapy journeys.
